Community Involvement Organization

Who we are:

The HTOMS Community Involvement Organization is a group that works to connect caregivers, families, and community members to HTOMS, and supports the school’s mission to “nurture, inspire, and empower lifelong learners, global citizens, and environmental stewards”. We provide campus support in coordination with HTOMS leadership, and plan and execute events to encourage caregiver involvement, to build up our school community, and to connect with the surrounding community in Hayward and beyond. We act with a focus on equity, access, and support, and allow members to participate at whatever level they are comfortable with. CIO will hold quarterly meetings for at-large members, and working committees will have meetings in accordance with their designated event/project, held either virtually or in-person.

Projects & events:

There are many events scheduled for this school year, and we need our amazing CIO volunteers to make them happen! The all-school events are largely planned and run by the CIO. Anyone interested in getting involved can join in and support. There will be requests for event committee members, and chairs/co-chairs to lead the event planning. We keep notes on planning each event, so committee members will have access to the previous year’s notes when available.

 

If you have an idea for a new event or project, we’d love to hear it! You can fill out the Event Proposal Form to submit an idea. Submissions will be reviewed by HTOMS administrators prior to approval. ALL events must be approved to be added to the CIO calendar. We want to make sure that we don’t have conflicting events or overtax our community, and we aim to provide clear and complete information about all HTOMS events throughout the year.
